What should an employee do if he has stayed beyond his probation period at work and he is not given letter of confirmation or otherwise? He approached his boss on this and was assured not to worry.
Well, that is easily said, but I am sure he does worry.
The management are going to have to clarify this eventually, but maybe they are waiting for a vacancy to arise that they can slot him in to. It may be out of the managers’ hands for the time being.
On the one hand, he may just need to be patient, on the other I can see why he wants clarity.
I would advise another informal word with the manager, and just ask if they can tell him what the holdup is, give him an idea of timeline, or give him another word of assurance. Is there anything he needs to do to ensure a permanent post?
And then work hard, be patient , keep confident and stay close to the manager.
